Great post Stan! What does the E and D mean next to their names? I'm bummed I got Skip's autograph at Gary Con last year and chatted with Penny for a bit, but didn't think to get her signature. Was she involved in TSR?

Oh, and goodness yes, Penny was an invaluable member of the team. A highly experienced editor AND the person who put together the spreadsheet monster stat block generator for 3E.

Thanks, TJ. Glad you liked this little post. The "E" or "D" next to a person's entry denotes whether they are primarily an Editor or Designer. Though a great many of us were capable of doing either type of assignment, for the purposes of the company's org chart everyone had to be accounted for as one or the other. ("CD" stood for Creative Director, and "ME" was Managing Editor.)

Thanks for the explanation. Now I really need to get back to Gary Con.

I never knew about the personalized copies - that's awesome!

I ran a playtest group and can honestly say we contributed at least two things to the game, though I am certain I'm not the only one that questioned those particular things (spells that did not scale enough with level - or rather were too good at low level).
