Homage: 1980
Exclusive advance access to the cartoon homage drawn during Episode 8.
There were a lot of great D&D products released in 1980, but I chose “Expedition to the Barrier Peaks” for this week’s cartoon homage. SO MANY classic moments, and illustrations, but none more classic than the cover image by Erol Otus.
An adventuring party with a blaster and sci-fi armor … who could turn up the chance to draw that?!? I tweaked the color scheme a little, and made a few minor adjustments … but I think I captured the wa-hoo craziness of the original. (I hope Erol thinks so, too.)
