Homage: 1991
Subscribers get an early look at the completed cartoon homage to art for the original Dark Sun boxed set.
In Episode 19, as I talked with my first boss—David Wise, former Head of Creative Services at TSR and Brand Manager at Wizards of the Coast—I began work on a cartoon homage to cover art from the original Dark Sun boxed set, done by the inimitable Brom.
The original painting was divided up and used for the covers of the box cover, as well as two of the interior game books, and the first Dark Sun novel—The Verdant Path.
I decided that, similarly to what I did on my homage to the original Dungeon Master’s Guide and the Fiend Folio, I’d combine elements of the two halves of this widescreen image into a single square homage.
