More Gen Con Livestreams
Stan! is hosting three more Gen-Con-related livestreams this week
We had a great time last night chatting with game industry luminary about his history with Gen Con—stretching all the way back to 1978 (check out Episode 67 on replay whenever you like)—but that’s not the end of the Gen-Con-related fun! The convention is underway in Indianapolis … and Stan! will be online three more times while it’s going on.
First, tonight (Thursday, July 31 at 6pm Pacific) there will be a Gen-Con-themed episode of Random Encounters. As always, Stan! will combine encounter tables, electronic die rolls, and audience input to generate a trio of randomly-generated drawing prompts … then sketch them out while you watch. Improv cartooning at its finest!
Then on Friday (August 1 at 4pm Pacific), Stan! will join gaming luminary and all-around-sweetheart-of-a-human-being Owen K.C. Stephens for this year’s installment of Convo on the Couch! This is a digital tradition grown out of an in-person tradition. For years, whenever they’re at Gen Con, Owen and Stan! take at least one night and spend it sitting on a couch in one of the Indy hotel lobbies (often the Omni) just hanging out and holding court. All are welcome to stop by, ask questions, and chat casually … and as their industry friends pass by, Stan! and Owen call them over to chat, too. It’s amazing how well that format works online!
Finally, on Saturday, August 2 (at 2pm Pacific), Stan! will join Kobold Press Senior Editor and Blog-meister Jeff Quick for a Totally Unofficial, Not Affiliate with Gen Con in ANY Way, GEN CON SEMINAR. When they’re in Indy, Stan! and Jeff often have a whole schedule full of seminars to support the work they’ve done recently and promote the projects they have upcoming. And if they were there this year, they’d for sure be doing events to promote the new Necromancer card game, available at the Kobold Press booth (visit them at 1649) AND online. But since they’re spending the weekend at home, they’re doing THIS livestream instead.
