Process Video: Fantasy Age 2E
Exclusively for paid subscribers
I’ve done quite a few cartoon homages to cover paintings by Wayne Reynolds. He’s definitely been one of the most prolific and recognizable artists of the new millenium, and the second half of gaming’s first half-century. He’s done literally dozens of covers for the two biggest games in the hobby—Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder … but he’s also lent his inimitable style to other games. Like in this case for the cover of the second edition Fantasy AGE Core Rulebook from Green Ronin Publishing.
I started work on this drawing while chatting with GR founder and creative lead, Chris Pramas, during Episode 64, and brought it to near conclusion last week in the twelfth work-in-progress episode of the series.
Subscribers to this newsletter got to see this drawing early, whereas the general public are only just getting their first glimpses of it today. But there’s still something left that’s JUST for the paid subscribers—a process video showing the step-by-step creation of this cartoon homage. (If you’re currently a free subscriber, now would be a great time to upgrade.)
