This Week: Brian Suskind & Northlands Sagas
Our special guest this week is longtime Kobold Press game designer, Brian Suskind
Brian Suskind is a multi-award winning game designer and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. He has worked on just about every Kobold Press book since the days of Open Game Design. When he’s not trying to get mimics into everything, he’s freelanced for such companies as Beadle & Grimm, Steamforged Games, Draco Studios, Legendary Games, Zombie Sky Press, and Storm Bunny Studios. He’s also written numerous screenplays for television, cable, and film companies. Currently, he is the newest full-time designer at Kobold Press.
Brian is also set to be our guest for Episode 68 this Wednesday (9/17) at 6pm Pacific.
While they chat, Stan! will begin work on a cartoon homage to Megan Lara's cover art for Northlands Sagas sourcebook, currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter.
If you have any questions for Brian or Stan!, post them in reply to this message. Remember that if you’re a paid subscriber, your questions get bumped to the head of the queue.
If you’re enjoying the show, please help us grow our audience by sharing it and this newsletter with other folks you know who you think would also find it fun and entertaining. The BIGGEST challenge we have is growing the audience … and the BEST method to do that is word of mouth.

Here's the obvious question: how are one-shots, adventures or full campaigns alike and different from the structure of a tv episode, movie or mini-series? There are other related questions comparing and contrasting to video production and game production one could ask, such as: Have you ever storyboarded your RPG work? Have you ever worked on a film production bible, and does it compare to making a setting bible? I'm excited to learn more about Threads in Northlands and how it may be used in future RPG products.
