This Week: Malix Nystul + Shadowrun 1E
A new interview with an industry veteran
Time for another fresh interview episode this week. My guest on Episode 78 will be Malix Nystul, a gamer, game designer, game master, and consultant who has been involved with the hobby for more than forty years. During his time as a professional designer he worked in-house for TSR, FASA, and Mayfair Games on lines such as D&D, BattleTech, Shadowrun, DC Heroes, Chill, Underground, and Role Aids. As a freelancer he worked for companies such as White Wolf, Steve Jackson Games, Hero Games, and West End Games on lines such as TORG, GURPS, Champions, Fantasy Hero, and In Nomine. Under the banner of Pariah Press he published The Whispering Vault (an offbeat horror game) and as Nystul Game Vault he published NUkED (and even more offbeat post apocalypse game) for which a 3rd edition is about to be released!
As you may have noticed, in Episode 77 I had a little technical difficulty that prevented me from drawing as I talked with William W. Connors … but I hopefully have sorted that out. But this being “live TV,” I suppose we’ll only know for sure when I hit the “Go Live” button.
While we chat, I’ll begin work on a cartoon homage to Larry Elmore’s cover painting for original core rulebook for Shadowrun.
If you have any questions for Malix or me, post them in reply to this message. Remember that if you’re a paid subscriber, your questions get bumped to the head of the queue.
If you’re enjoying the show, please help us grow our audience by sharing it and this newsletter with other folks you know who you think would also find it fun and entertaining. The BIGGEST challenge we have is growing the audience … and the BEST method to do that is word of mouth.
