This Week: Studio Time—Dawning of a New Age
Streaming at 6pm Pacific
A couple of weeks ago I hosted a group of former TSR staff members for a show paying tribute to novelist, game designer, and longtime head of the RPGA, Jean Rabe, who passed away in January. It was a terrific discussion, and if you haven’t listened to Episode 75 yet, I highly recommend it. Jean’s one of those people whose work is a major part of the foundation on which modern TTRPG fandom stands.
I tried several new things during that episode, including having three guest on the show simultaneously. Naturally, there were some technical challenges, but for the most part it came through fine. One thing that DID have to be abandoned due to the tech challenges was my plan to do a cartoon homage during the show. I’d hoped to draw my interpretation of the cover painting for one of Jean’s best selling titles—the first book in her trilogy of Dragonlance: Fifth Age novels—but it just wasn’t to be.
I don’t see why Jean’s episode should be denied the keepsake that all the previous shows have. So for this week’s livestream I’m going to eschew guests and spend some time working on my creative tip of the hat to Jeff Easley’s painting for The Dawning of a New Age.
While I work, I’ll be telling stories and answering questions. We’ll be streaming live at 6pm Pacific on Wednesday, March 18 … so join us in the live chat room if you can. But if not, remember that you can always find the replay over on my YouTube channel.
If you’re enjoying the show, please consider sharing it with other folks you think would like it, too. Word of mouth is the BEST way to help the show grow.
And please do consider upgrading your subscription. You’ll get access to process videos for all of the art produced on the show and discounts on all art prints and other show-related merch. Plus you’ll be helping to keep the show going and perhaps even expanding.
