This Week: WiP Wednesday—Dragon Magazine 137
Here's what Stan! is going to be up to on Wednesday's livestream
I’m getting dangerously close to finally being caught up on all of the cartoon homages started on previous episodes. In fact, this week I’ll begin working on the last image in the unfinished queue—my tip of the creative cap to Keith Parkinson’s classic painting “North Watch,” which many of us first encountered as the cover for Dragon Magazine issue 137.
I started this drawing back during episode 76 as I chatted with Alex Kammer. He told us how he this piece was basically what led to him becoming a collector of original art and gaming rarities, which in a roundabout way eventually led to him founding GameHole Con. … which I’ll once again be attending as a special guest in October.
See how it all hangs together in the great tapestry of hobby gaming?
While I work, I’ll be telling stories and answering questions. We’ll be streaming live at 6pm Pacific on Wednesday, April 22… so join us in the live chat room if you can. But if not, remember that you can always find the replay over on my YouTube channel.
If you’re enjoying the show, please consider sharing it with other folks you think would like it, too. Word of mouth is the BEST way to help the show grow.
And please do consider upgrading your subscription. You’ll get access to process videos for all of the art produced on the show and discounts on all art prints and other show-related merch. Plus you’ll be helping to keep the show going and perhaps even expanding.
