2025 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of one of the first d20/OGL publishers, Green Ronin Publishing, and I want to do my best to help celebrate this milestone. To that end, I had GR publisher Chris Pramas on as my guest for Episode 64, and we talked about how much ground the company has covered in that time. From the very first d20 adventure module—Death in Freeport—to innovating on OGL design with stand-alone core RPGs like Mutants & Masterminds, to completely new TTRPG game systems like the Adventure Game Engine rules, Green Ronin has been at the forefront of the hobby for fully half of its existence.
While we talked, I started a cartoon homage to Wayne Reynolds’s cover painting for the second edition of the Fantasy AGE Core Rulebook. Now it’s time for me to pick up that work and try to carry it across the finish line.
