As the weather has taken a turn for the chilly … and holiday season is in full swing, it only seems right that this week’s work-in-progress piece has a very wintry vibe. It’s a tip of the creative cap to Aaron Miller’s cover for Northlands Sagas—a adventure collection/mini campaign from Kobold Press that we first talked about in Episode 68 when I was talking with designer Brian Suskind.
I love the vibe of this piece and can’t wait to get back to drawing that very troll-like giant. But my favorite detail in the image is that brave little crow flying into battle. I’m going to do my best to get a little more corvid essence into my drawing if I can.
