This Week's Guest ... Bart Carroll
Join us Wednesday as we chat with the former producer of he D&D website, podcasts, and streaming shows.
When Bart Carroll hasn't been creating content for the digital and tabletop gaming industries for the past 25 years, he's otherwise been busy collecting action figures (or petting his dog). He spent several years at Wizards of the Coast, producing D&D's website, podcast, and livestream shows in that time, as well as publishing Dragon+ Magazine, and managing the D&D Extra Life team (helping Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals). Bart currently works at Nintendo of America. You can find him at bartcarroll.com, or right here at bartcarroll.substack.com.
Bart will be our guest on Episode 66 of the show. Join the live chat room on Wednesday, May 7, at 6pm Pacific. Or, if you can’t make the livestream, you can always catch find the replay in our online archive.
While they chat, Stan! will begin work on a cartoon homage to Denis Buveau's classic painting “Stalemate,” which was used as the cover art for Dragon Magazine #86.
If you have any questions for Bart or Stan!, post them in reply to this message. Remember that if you’re a paid subscriber, your questions get bumped to the head of the queue.
If you’re enjoying the show, please help us grow our audience by sharing it and this newsletter with other folks you know who you think would also find it fun and entertaining. The BIGGEST challenge we have is growing the audience … and the BEST method to do that is word of mouth.
I’m really curious how Bart feels about the changes across the years to magazines. What lessons can be learned from Dragon/Dungeon, DDI, and Dragon+? Is it really cost-prohibitive to have a monthly or semi-monthly offering of this kind? Thanks!
