This Week's Guest ... James Lowder
Award winning and bestselling author James Lowder is this week's special guest. The show will stream live Wednesday 5/8 at 6pm Pacific.
James Lowder was one of the early members of the TSR Book Department, not to mention a highly regarded game designer. He’s the author of the bestselling, widely translated dark fantasy novels Prince of Lies and Knight of the Black Rose; short fiction for such anthologies as Shadows Over Baker Street; comic book scripts for Image, Moonstone, and DC; and RPG material for TSR, White Wolf, and Steve Jackson Games. As an editor, he’s directed novel series or fiction lines (including Ravenloft, Dark Sun, and the Forgotten Realms), edited nearly two dozen anthologies, and served as executive editor for Green Knight and Chaosium. His work has received five Origins Awards and two ENnie Awards, and been a finalist for the International Horror Guild Award, the Dragon Award, and the Stoker Award.
Join us live on YouTube Wednesday May 8 at 6pm Pacific as Stan! asks him about the formative years for D&D fiction and his own experience writing in the shared worlds of Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft.
This week’s cartoon homage will celebrate the 1987 Forgotten Realms supplement Waterdeep and the North.
If you have any questions for James, post them in reply to this message. Remember that if you’re a paid subscriber, your questions get bumped to the head of the queue.
And if you can’t make it to the livestream, you can always watch the episode on demand over at Stan!’s YouTube channel.
If you’re enjoying the show, please help us grow our audience by sharing it and this newsletter with other folks you know who you think would also find it fun and entertaining. The BIGGEST challenge we have is growing the audience … and the BEST method to do that is word of mouth.
