This Week's Guest ... Philip Athans
Our special guest this week is Philip Athans—the former Senior Managing Editor of the Wizards of the Coast Book Publishing team and author of a dozen books of his own.
For more than a decade, Philip Athans was one of the primary editors for fiction set in the Forgotten Realms. He worked with authors such as R.A. Salvatore, Ed Greenwood, and Elaine Cunningham (just to name a few) as they crafted their most enduring work. He also wrote novels of his own, including the Watercourse trilogy, War of the Spider Queen: Annihilation, and novelizations for Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2. He went on to become the Senior Managing Editor for the whole of Wizards’ Book Publishing department.
Since leaving WotC, Philip has been the principle force behind Athans & Associates Creative Consultants and The Fantasy Author’s Handbook.
Join Stan! and Philip for an engaging conversation live on YouTube this Wednesday, August 28.
While Stan! chats with Philip, he’ll be working on a cartoon homage to Jeff Easley’s cover painting for the adventure The Speaker in Dreams.
If you have any questions for Philip, post them in reply to this message. Remember that if you’re a paid subscriber, your questions get bumped to the head of the queue.
