YouTube Update
TL/DR: My old channel probably isn't coming back ... so I opened a new one. (Link included below.)
Time for an update regarding how things are going with my efforts to get my YouTube channel restored. In a word, that effort is all but dead in the water. However, not all the news is bad.
As you may recall, the YouTube channel I'd been posting to for a decade or more got caught up in copyright dispute, and as a result was permanently deactivated. (You can read about it here.) Well, after filling out a lot of forms, talking to every expert I know, and a whole bunch of frustrating interactions with YouTube's mostly-automated customer service I've gotten to the point where just about every possible avenue has been explored. (I'm still chasing down the last few ... but I am no longer optimistic about their chances of success.)
So I've moved on to the next course of action ... I've started a new channel attached to a different account. I spent a week or so uploading copies of the videos that I KNOW I own 100% of the rights to (created wholly by me), so that it wouldn't be an empty space ... and now I'm opening the doors to my friends, fans, family, and the general public!
Yes, my new YouTube channel is open for business. PLEASE head on over there when you can click the Subscribe button. (That's actually VERY helpful to me, even if you never actually watch a video.)
While there you can watch:
All episodes of 50 Years in the Dungeon
The Year Two episodes of Random Encounters (my improv cartooning show)
The weekly livestreams for both shows
Any future videos I make pertaining to my writing or gaming
This whole thing hasn't gone the way I'd hoped or imagined it would ... but I think finally it's on steady footing and we can move forward with some degree of confidence. Thank you to EVERYONE who offered words of encouragement, insight, and moral support. It means the world to me!
